SANYIPACE S850DSTKM Sewer Camera Review: Drain to Pond Fishing

This blog post is adapted from a YouTube review published by the channel “3 MISSISSIPPI,” in which creator Mike uses and tests the SANYIPACE S850DSTKM sewer camera. The content reflects his personal opinions, observations, and real-world experience with the product.

Welcome to 3 MISSISSIPPI. I'm Mike, and I have a 16-year-old daughter with a lot of hair—which means I also have a clogged shower drain.

So today, I’m going to investigate what’s really happening inside my plumbing system. Luckily, Sanyipace sent me this pipe inspection camera system, and I’m ready to put it through a real-world test.

First Test: Inspecting My Shower Drain

The first thing I do is power on the unit. Immediately, the LEDs at the end of the camera light up. The brightness can be adjusted through different levels, so I start with the lowest setting and increase it if needed.

I’ve already taken part of my plumbing apart because I’m not a professional plumber, so I’m not here to teach anyone plumbing. Instead, I just want to use this sewer camera to see what’s inside the pipe.

"I feed the camera cable into the drain and start recording. Right away, I can see the inside of the pipe clearly. And there it is…Hair. A lot of hair."

As I push further, I reach the main blockage. The sewer camera shows exactly what’s causing the problem, and I can barely push through it.

Looks like my daughter’s hair is the reason for this clogged drain. Now that I know where the problem is, I want to explore what else this camera can do.

    Exploring More Than Just Pipes

My neighbor has a beautiful little lake in his backyard, and rumor has it fish are living in it. So, why not test the camera underwater? I put some bread into the water to attract the fish, turn on the camera, and start recording.

Almost immediately, we begin seeing activity. I think I spotted a small bass. The drain camera also allows us to see underwater plants and the condition of the lake floor. It’s actually pretty impressive.

My neighbor and I even joked that this could be useful for checking fishing spots or attaching it to a lure setup. Apparently, there really are plenty of fish in this pond.

Exploring the Features of the Sanyipace Inspection Camera

After testing it, I want to show you some of the features I discovered.

    1. Large Display and Recording Functions

The system comes with a large 10-inch screen, which makes viewing inspection footage much easier. The display resolution is 1024 × 600, and the camera supports:

    • AVI video recording
    • JPEG photo capture
    • Audio recording

The keyboard can be removed and connected with a long cable, giving you more flexibility while operating the camera.

    2. Camera Head and Accessories

Inside the case, you’ll find the camera head with built-in LED lights. The system also includes different adapters designed for different pipe sizes. For larger pipes, the included guide wheels help keep the camera centered and make movement smoother.

The camera head connects directly to the cable using a threaded waterproof connection. Once everything is tightened securely, the camera is ready to use.

    3. Self-Leveling Camera: A Surprisingly Useful Feature

One feature I didn’t expect was the self-leveling function. When I rotate the camera, the image automatically adjusts to stay upright.

I can turn it almost 180 degrees, and the camera keeps correcting itself until the image returns to the correct orientation. This is extremely useful when inspecting pipes because you always know which direction you’re looking.

    4. Adjustable LED Lighting

The camera is equipped with built-in LED lights, and the brightness can be adjusted through multiple levels.

From dim lighting to maximum brightness, you can choose the right amount of illumination depending on the environment. This makes a big difference when working inside dark pipes.

    5. Long Cable and Easy Operation

The system comes with a 300-foot inspection cable, allowing you to inspect long distances inside pipes.

The cable reel design is surprisingly easy to operate. I pulled out around 10 feet of cable, and when I was finished, it rolled back in smoothly without much effort. Compared with traditional manual drain snakes, this is much easier to handle.

    6. Built-In Storage and Distance Measurement

The camera includes a 32 GB memory card and supports up to 128 GB. You can save inspection videos, photos, and audio recordings directly.

The keyboard also allows you to measure the distance the camera has traveled inside the pipe. This is a useful feature because if you discover a blockage or damaged section, you know exactly how far down the line the problem is located.

    7. A Complete Inspection System for Real Problems

One thing I really like about this system is that everything is stored together in one case. The camera, cable, accessories, and controls all work as one complete unit.

Instead of guessing where a problem is, you can take this system directly to the issue, inspect the area, and diagnose the cause.

    Final Thoughts

After using the Sanyipace sewer camera, I have to say I’m impressed.

It helped me find the cause of my clogged shower drain, and it offers many useful features for homeowners, DIY enthusiasts, and anyone who wants a better look inside their plumbing system.

I already have several friends asking to borrow it. Honestly, a tool like this is something many people might only need once or twice a year—but when you need it, having one available can save a lot of time and frustration.
