Unboxing the Sanyipace Plumbing Camera System

Upon opening the box, you'll find two main parts: the plumbing inspection camera and the handheld locator.

The locator is compact and intuitive. Once powered on, it emits a signal tone that increases in volume as you get closer to the camera probe. You can adjust the sensitivity and switch between "far" and "near" modes for better accuracy.

Also included is a charger that changes color to indicate charging status—red while charging, green when full—a simple but helpful feature.

The monitor comes with a sun visor (like a baseball cap brim), useful for outdoor use to reduce glare. However, when used indoors, the visor can slightly obstruct the view. The control box includes LED brightness controls, charging ports, and the connection hub for the sewage camera and display.

Inside the camera box, you'll also find:

• A self-leveling camera head
• A sturdy cable reel
• Small accessories like a screwdriver and remote (though I found the screwdriver too sharp and the remote redundant)

Field Testing the Drain Camera and Locator

For the test, I inserted the camera into an air duct in my room. Using the locator, I was able to detect the probe’s location accurately—even through walls and into my closet.

Switching between far and near detection modes gave more precise feedback, and I could trace the path of the camera by following the signal peaks. This dual detection system is one of the standout features of this drain inspection camera, especially if you're working in tight or complex plumbing systems.

Next, I ran the camera through PVC pipes with 90-degree bends. Despite the tight corners, the camera handled them reasonably well. However, the cable could benefit from being slightly thicker—it struggled a bit when pushing past a taped joint near my closet.

Still, it’s effective for most light- to medium-duty inspection jobs.

Unfortunately, I don't have any real plumbing jobs. But we can demonstrate on this PVC that has a 90 degree angle elbow. We're going to do a demonstration through this pipe first. And then we're going to do a demonstration through the larger pipe. We see the PVC on the screen there. I will go ahead and loosen up the line a little bit. Go ahead and push it up, and come out with a brand new pipe. There's going to be no debris on there or anything. We can use this camera in pipes with 90 degree bends.

Footage Quality and Usability
