How to use a Sanyipace Sewer Camera Self-Leveling, 328ft/100m 0.2in/5mm Harder Fiberglass Cable

Introduction

Hello everyone! I'm David from the Mechanicallyincleyend channel. Today, I’ll be reviewing a plumbing camera that’s useful not only for sewer lines but also for ductwork, crawl spaces, and other pipe systems. This particular model is the Sanyipace self-leveling sewer camera with a 328ft (100m) 5mm fiberglass cable. Sanyipace kindly sent me this unit to try, but all opinions are my own.

What’s in the Box: Sanyipace Plumbing Camera Kit Overview

The Sanyipace drain camera comes in a tough, hard-shell suitcase designed to protect the equipment. Here’s what you’ll find inside:

  • 328ft (100m) 5mm semi-rigid fiberglass cable

  • Self-leveling sewage camera head

  • 9-inch LCD monitor with built-in controls

  • USB soft keyboard for typing notes

  • Rechargeable lithium battery (approx. 4-hour charge)

  • Power adapter

  • Camera guide wheels and protective caps

  • Handy tool kit (screwdriver, fasteners, etc.)

Pro tip: The self-leveling function keeps the video upright as the camera moves through pipes—great for accurate orientation during inspections.

The camera boots quickly, and the live video appears on the screen. The drain inspection camera includes record, photo, play, and zoom functions—all easy to access with the built-in buttons.

The USB keyboard is surprisingly handy. I tested it by typing “My House,” and it appeared perfectly on the screen. This is super useful for labeling inspection videos or adding client notes on the job.

Real-World Use: Testing the Sanyipace Drain Inspection Camera

To test the plumbing camera, I accessed my main sewer cleanout. It was a bit gross—some flies were nesting inside—but it offered a good chance to evaluate performance in real-world conditions.

Adjustable LED Lights

The camera head has a ring of LED lights around it. You can control the brightness using buttons on the battery pack—there are five brightness levels. I used the brightest setting for deep pipe visibility.

Camera Performance

  • The video feed is impressively clear.

  • As the camera moves forward, an on-screen distance counter tracks how far you've gone.

  • At 21 feet in, everything still looked clean.

  • By 30 feet, I could see water flowing—thanks to a faucet I left running intentionally.

  • The image remained level and sharp, even as we reached 41+ feet.

Eventually, I reached over 100 feet and even spotted some changes in pipe material and flow activity. Disgustingly, I also saw… well, solid waste—but that’s real-world sewer work for you!

Cable Handling & Cleaning

After the inspection, I retracted the cable using the built-in spool, cleaning it with a rag as it came out. This keeps the equipment and your truck clean. The spool’s design is clever—the retracting is smooth and simple.

Absolutely. The Sanyipace plumbing camera is built for professionals. It offers excellent features like a self-leveling camera, adjustable LED lights, a long semi-rigid cable, and intuitive controls. It’s perfect for plumbers, HVAC techs, and anyone needing a reliable sewer inspection camera.
