Sanyipace Articulating Borescope Review: Exploring Inside Mufflers

Hello everyone, this is Santa's Workshop back again with a hands-on look at an exciting new inspection tool — the Sanyipace articulating borescope. This multifunctional device, also referred to as a plumbing camera or inspection camera, is perfect for getting clear visuals in hard-to-reach areas. Today, instead of checking an engine, I’m using it to look inside two performance mufflers. Let’s see what this borescope can uncover!

Unboxing the Sanyipace Articulating Borescope

The Sanyipace borescope comes in a sturdy carrying case that’s perfect for field use. It’s a handheld device with a durable, heavy-duty cable and dual-lens camera. With its strong LED lighting and clear display, this inspection camera is designed to deliver high-quality images, even in dark and narrow chambers.

Using the Borescope: Muffler Inspection Time

While I usually test automotive engines, today I’ve got two brand-new mufflers:

• Hush-Thrush Turbo Muffler

• Hooker Aero Chamber Muffler

The Hooker Aero Chamber is planned for my Caballero project, while the Thrush muffler is a potential candidate for the Camaro. However, I’m considering building my own muffler for it — but first, I want to understand how these ones work internally.

Thanks to the Sanyipace inspection camera, I can now peek inside and compare them directly.

Visual Comparison: Inside the Mufflers

Let’s begin with the Hooker Aero Chamber. It has a single solid body with defined inlet and outlet pipes. The internal structure is more open than I expected, featuring chambers and moderate insulation — all easily visible thanks to the adjustable-angle borescope. You can see the air flow pathway and internal acoustics, which explains its deep yet balanced tone.

Next up is the Hush-Thrush Turbo Muffler. This one doesn’t have a specified inlet or outlet, and the pipe sizing suggests it’s more flexible in installation. Internally, it has a dual-chamber design with noticeable insulation. Using the inspection camera, I could easily view the inner baffling and noise-canceling structure.

Camera Performance: Crystal-Clear Visuals

The Sanyipace borescope performed impressively throughout. It features:

• Dual-camera switching with a side-view lens

• A bright LED light ring for low-light areas

• Large focal range, capturing both wide views and close-up detail

• An easy-to-use interface for recording or capturing images

Whether you’re inspecting mufflers, pipes, or engines, this plumbing inspection camera gives you the clarity and control you need. It even captured the insulation material and airflow path inside both mufflers in detail.
