Sanyipace UPGRATED S8951DM 9-Inch Sewer Camera – Full Overview
Today, I’d like to introduce a plumbing camera from the company Sanyipace This is how it looks—compact, very practical, and lightweight. Here we have a handle for carrying, and everything you need is included.
Here’s how it’s packed: first, we have the 9-inch display. We won’t need the manual for now. Next, there’s the charging cable, a centering module for 125 mm pipes, the display cable (which plugs in here), and a separate module for the sewer camera head. Additionally, the centering ring is included, and this is the camera head itself.
The head comes equipped with 12 LEDs. I’ll now connect all the components and walk you through how it works step by step.
By the way, the cable length is 30 meters. When you order the unit, it comes with a 16 GB SD card, which lets you record video, take photos, and zoom in on the image. You can also adjust the lighting as needed. I’ll show you how all of this looks in just a moment.

What's in the Box
As mentioned earlier, the system includes a 16 GB memory card and supports up to 128 GB if you need more storage. You’ll also find spare sealing rings that fit onto the camera head. When the device isn’t in frequent use, the camera head can be protected with the included screw-on cap—it’s quick and easy to remove or replace.
The camera head is impressively flexible and offers a 145° viewing angle, capturing everything in HD quality. Let’s now check out how the monitor displays the image.

Power Supply and Image Test
You can power the sewage camera using the built-in battery. Charging usually takes about 6 hours, and after that, it's ready for use. Once turned on, the light activates immediately, allowing you to start testing the image quality without delay.
The image looks excellent. Moreover, the LED brightness can be adjusted across five levels, depending on your inspection environment.

Using the Plumbing Camera and Monitor
Operating the monitor is simple, and the system supports multiple languages (mine is set to German by default). Here are the key features:
-
Video recording
-
Playback and photo capture
-
Deleting media files
-
Real-time meter counter (switchable to feet)
-
5x digital zoom
-
IP68 waterproof rating
All buttons are front-facing and easy to reach. You can also record while charging, and the footage is saved to the SD card. For more usage tips, check out this Sanyipace guide on using a plumbing camera effectively. 💡

Zoom and Recording Features
Let’s explore the zoom function. When you press the zoom button, you can magnify the image up to five times. Pressing the REC button starts the recording, and the distance counter appears at the bottom of the screen. You can also take snapshots during recording by pressing the photo button—they save instantly.
The camera works even when connected to a power source, so you can use it while charging. Plus, since it’s fully waterproof, it performs reliably during underwater sewer inspections.

Waterproofing and Stabilization
The plumbing camera has an IP68 waterproof rating, which makes it ideal for inspecting water-filled pipes. Even when shaken on purpose, the image remains steady—any motion is quickly corrected by the system’s stabilization.
Now, let’s take a closer look at the core of the device—the camera head. It’s extremely flexible and has a base diameter of 23 mm. With the centering module, that increases to about 38 mm. If you use the larger ring designed for 125 mm pipes, the total diameter becomes 120 mm, making it perfect for larger pipe systems.

Plumbing Camera with 512Hz Sonde for Pipe Locating
A great feature: this sewer camera has a built-in 512 Hz sonde transmitter. That means if there’s a blockage, root intrusion, or pipe damage—say at 5 or 8 meters—you can push the drain camera to the problem and use a locator to find its exact position and depth. This is extremely helpful for excavation or targeted repairs.
The head is very flexible, and I’ll be posting more videos soon showing it in action—for example, unclogging a pipe and testing the camera’s image quality.
This function is a must-have for professionals who need to minimize digging and maximize precision.
