Leach Field Inspection with Sanyipace Plumbing Camera

Introduction: Why a Reliable Plumbing Camera Matters

Hi everyone, I'm Dominick. In this video, we'll be diving into the inspection of a leach field in a septic system — and we’ll be doing it with the help of a plumbing camera. A few months ago, we discovered various problems like wet spots, broken pipes, and excessive water runoff from a mountain feeding into the field. While most of these issues have been addressed, I suspect there are still hidden problems underground.

To investigate properly, I’ll be using a special sewer camera that not only captures clear footage but also allows us to locate issues precisely. Full disclosure: Sanyipace generously provided me with this camera for review. Let’s see how it performs in real-world testing!

Product Overview: Sanyipace Plumbing Camera Features

Here’s the full setup: a durable all-in-one system with a keyboard and a 200-foot-long cable attached to the drain camera. First, we’ll open the D-box, which I purposely left exposed for easier follow-up inspections. Inside, you'll spot the yellow levelers that help manage the distribution of wastewater across different zones.

Tip: A balanced system ensures the leach field doesn't overload, so it's crucial to monitor these distribution points regularly.

Key Advantages of the Sanyipace Drain Inspection Camera

Rugged Design for Field Use

One thing I immediately loved about this drain inspection camera is its rugged construction. Unlike other models that easily topple over on rough ground, this one holds steady even when pulling the cable across grass or dirt.

Flexible Light Adjustment and Accurate Distance Metering

After inserting the camera into the system, we turn on the LED lighting. It offers five adjustable brightness levels, which is critical when exploring dark pipelines.

Another handy feature is the meter counter: it allows you to reset the measurement once you reach the entry point, giving you precise distance tracking throughout the inspection.

Self-Leveling Camera Head with Locator Support

The plumbing camera also comes with a self-leveling function that ensures the video feed remains upright, making it much easier to spot deposits or damages. In our case, we identified water buildup inside one of the pipes.

Thanks to the built-in 512Hz transmitter sonde, I used the Sanyipace locator to pinpoint the exact location of the problem. Impressively, this locator rivals professional-grade $3,000 equipment but is lightweight and much more affordable.

Note: The locator only picks up 512Hz signals, which is standard for most sewer inspections.

Ultra-HD Picture Quality

Before moving to the next inspection point, I labeled the green pipe using the built-in keyboard. I then switched to the larger pulley attachment — ideal for pipes over 4 inches in diameter — and pushed the camera in further. Even 65 feet deep, the camera delivered crystal-clear images, revealing a buildup of mud and rocks that needed attention.

Final Thoughts: Invest in the Right Plumbing Camera

After today's inspection, I decided not to push the sewer camera any deeper, even though there was still plenty of cable left. From what I saw, the Sanyipace plumbing camera proved to be a solid, reliable tool for getting a clear view of what's happening inside the septic system.

Whether you're a homeowner, a plumber, or an inspector, having a good drain inspection camera like this one can make a real difference. It helps catch problems early, making maintenance easier and potentially saving you a lot on repairs down the line.
