Sanyipace Pro Sized and Budget Sewer Inspection Camera System || Review

Introduction to Sanyipace Sewer Camera Systems

Welcome to Projects for All! I’m Mike, and today I’m reviewing two plumbing camera systems from Sanyipace—a brand that’s quickly gaining ground in the world of sewer inspection solutions. Whether you're a professional or a hands-on homeowner, these drain cameras offer reliable visuals at a fraction of the cost of brands like RIDGID or Milwaukee.

The professional-grade plumbing camera with locator costs about $2,600. If you’re on a tighter budget, there’s a smaller unit priced around $550—check the linked video review for that one in the description.

Dimensions and Build: Durable Drain Camera Design

This large sewage camera system measures roughly 26” long, 14” wide, and 31” tall—compact enough for vans or trucks. It features an all-metal frame, durable wheels, and a sturdy 9mm cable ideal for navigating standard pipes. While the rollers are plastic, the cable feeds smoothly—a crucial factor in any drain inspection camera.

    Cable System & Reel Mechanics

The cable spool includes a roller system with bearings for better feed control. While I’m not fond of the spool lock mechanism (which may distort the plate), it’s still manageable. For field use, I recommend using Velcro or a drilled securing hole for stability—especially if you’re using this sewer camera regularly.

    Mounting and Portability for Fieldwork

This drain camera uses bearing-mounted wheels and metal feet to elevate it off surfaces. Be careful on finished flooring, as dragging may leave marks. The screen case is detachable and adjustable, giving you better viewing angles in bright or awkward environments.

Control Case & Keyboard for the Plumbing Camera

The control case is a rugged, waterproof design—perfect for rough jobsite conditions. The built-in keyboard allows quick note entry directly onto inspection videos. With USB ports for backup keyboards and an intuitive layout, this setup adds real functionality to your plumbing camera usage.

    Accessories and Components

What’s included: the camera with LEDs and a sapphire crystal lens. It’s stainless steel, spring-mounted, with fine threads and an O-ring at the end. You also get a trolley for navigating larger pipes, a 110V charger (with LED charge status), spare O-rings, springs, a small screwdriver, and nylon screws. There's also a rubber plug to keep the charger port dry.

    Screen Interface and Menu Settings

On startup, the screen may flicker, but it stabilizes shortly. The display shows timestamp, battery voltage, and line-out measurement, which can be changed to meters. You can type notes using the keyboard, like job site addresses, and the notes will stay on the video. However, the keyboard’s functions are limited—most operations are controlled using the onboard buttons or F-keys.

    The menu includes:

    • Time settings

    • Playback (video and pictures)

    • Display settings (brightness, contrast, saturation, chroma)

    • Video options (circular recording, time watermark)

    • System settings (language, screen saver, SD card format, sound, software version)

    Camera Image Quality and Features

As for video quality, the camera performs best from around 3/4 inch to 1.5 feet. It offers clear detail and is self-leveling, which is essential for orientation. No matter how much you spin it, it corrects itself. It also transmits a 512Hz signal so you can locate it with the included locator.

The camera has five LED brightness settings (adjusted via F6), and five times digital zoom. F5 toggles the on-screen display, F7 clears the display.

    Locator Function and Sensitivity

The locator comes in two pieces, connects with circular contacts, and uses thumb screws for tool-free assembly. It includes a USB-C charger, earbuds, and an extra screw. Ports are hidden under a rubber cover. The support sticker has QR codes for easy access.

The locator is loud by default, but volume can be adjusted. It has near and far sensitivity settings and screen brightness control. For this video, I turned the sound off because it's quite loud, but in noisy environments, it's useful. Its sensitivity is excellent—even 2.5 feet away from the camera, it still picks up the signal.

Testing in the garage showed it working well. I then fed the plumbing camera into the pipe just past a 90-degree bend and tested the locator. Initially, there were no bars, but once the camera cleared the bend, it showed full bars.

Real-World Test of the Sewer Camera

The 9mm cable is rated for one 90-degree bend in a 4-inch pipe. It wasn’t easy to push it through—it took some effort. I’ll skip showing the grossest parts of the sewer, but we pushed through the muck, pulled back, and continued feeding.

At 20 feet, the cable fed smoothly. I cycled through the LED settings to improve visibility. The brightest setting worked best. We encountered roots around 40 feet, which had been a blockage in the previous video. While it’s improved, more clearing might be needed.

At 45 feet, it continued feeding nicely. We reached about 50 feet before hitting some standing water. You can see the cleanout in the parkway, and I used the locator to try and find it.

Final Verdict: A Reliable and Affordable Plumbing Camera

This plumbing camera truly impressed me. While you can spend four times more on big-brand kits, Sanyipace provides:

    • High-quality video

    • Smooth cable feed

    • Accurate locator support

    • Functional controls and practical accessories

Whether you're managing apartment buildings or handling service calls as a handyman, this sewage camera is a smart investment that balances performance with affordability.
