Sewer Camera S8951DM Introduction

Have you got a problem with your drains? Are they slow running, blocked or damaged? Well, unfortunately, that's exactly what's happened to this. This was damaged by roots from a tree. This drain itself has been relined, and now I'm going to inspect it. So today on [ Fix it with Fowler ], I'm going to be reviewing this plumbing camera and finding out all the amazing features.

This Sanyipace S8951DM drain inspection camera is an amazing bit of Kit. It offers high def Imaging. It is user-friendly, which means it can be used by homeowners and professionals. So let's delve into it and open it up and see what is included to attach the camera to the rod itself.

Plumbing Camera Unboxing

Is just this threaded point here? If you remove the rod from the holder, you can see that's got a screw thread, and you literally just screw that into place. The sewer camera comes with loads of different attachments depending on what you're going to use the camera for. Now, the unique thing about this plumbing camera is that you can put it down smaller diameter pipes.

Connection

So if you're going down a smaller pipe, you can use the sewage camera on its own. If it's slightly bigger, then you've got this guide and that just screws into place; or you can use the bigger one and slides on to the end of the rod and guides it down bigger drainage pipes. The final stage is to attach this flying lead to the display, and that just screws into place before you inspect the drain itself.

Set up

I recommend flushing that out using a bucket or a couple of buckets, a watering can, or, even better, a hose. That way, you'll clear out any debris that's in the drain. So, now that the sewer camera is all set up and attached, we can turn it on. As you can see, the picture quality is excellent, so now we can put that down the drain and go through some of the features.

Features

Adjustable LED & Meter Counter

This is so easy actually to put down the drain itself. All you need to do is gently feed the camera head in. Then, you can use the different available functions of the plumbing camera. There are five levels of brightness you can choose from. Levels one to five can be done simply by scrolling through it using this LED button. Once you've found the part of the drain that you want to inspect, it will tell you how many meters away you are. That means you can work out above ground where you are in the drain.

Recording & Photographing

The other feature is Recording & Photographing. When you begin to feed this into the drain, you can take a nice recording of the part of the drain that is either damaged or has been repaired. Another feature you've got is this zoom function. They can zoom up to five times, which gives you really detailed views of the drain itself. You can also use this button to take photos and capture these images.

Button Operation

That will help it reach loads of other people. So now that the drain has been inspected and all the footage is stored in this unit. However, what makes this unit unique is that it's all stored on a 16 GB SD card. You can either view the footage on-site directly on this unit or you can take that SD card and put it into a laptop or computer and view it there which allows you to then forward it on to other people. So, how do we look at the footage on this unit? That is really straightforward. All you need to do is press this play button. Now, brings you to this photo menu. If you press it again, it brings you to the video menu. To scroll through the photos or videos, you need to press the photo button or the zoom button.

Once you've decided which one you'd like to see, press the record button, and that brings it up on the screen. To view the videos, you can select which video you like to see and press record, and that will bring it up on the screen. If you want to stop this, you can press the record button again, and that will freeze it in that position. And to continue playing it, you press the record button, and you can see all the footage. If you need to exit the video, you just press the menu button, and that will take you back out to the start.
