Introduction

This is the Sanyipace sewer detection camera system equipped with a locator. When you detect underground pipelines, you can observe the situation in the pipeline through the camera, and you can also use the locator to detect the exact location of the camera. It's very useful for surveying properties to figure out where the pipes are. So when digging in the ground or hammering a pole or whatever, you don't make a mess. Let's go ahead and unbox all of this.

I've already used it. I will tell you the pros and cons. And keep in mind I am no professional. I have some borescopes I've used before. They're pretty straightforward, and this is pretty straightforward, too. But there are some things that you need to know.

Unboxing

Let's turn on the detector. They are in good condition. It's a handheld device that makes a noise, and you can adjust the sensitivity. The antenna is just below and needs to be mounted on the handheld unit to start using it.

You have your charger up there. Now, one thing I do like about this charger is when you plug it in, it'll let you know when it's done. Charging by this indicator here, it'll be red initially, and then it'll turn green when it's fully charged.

Let's now open the box with the camera in it. Starting at the top, we have our screen, and it has a baseball cap, which allows it to stay cool from the Sun. So it prevents any glare. But when using the camera indoors, I'm not too fond of the visor as it blocks my view.

There is a battery here that powers the whole thing. This is also a control box, with the charging terminal, the connection port between the camera and the monitor, and the LED adjustment buttons all on it.

There are two small accessories that I'm not happy with. One is a screwdriver, and the other is a remote control. Because the screwdriver is too sharp and will break the plastic, and the remote is a bit redundant since I can do it all on the camera.

Let's continue. Here is the first protector: when you're going through not super big pipes, it helps keep it level. I will use it in the air duct later.

Here's the camera itself with its leveling system. And the self-leveling works pretty well. But there are better inspection cameras. I believe Sanyipace has more high-end products. You can find better ones on their website.

Here is the actual line, which will attach your camera to send it through the pipes or the ductwork. Let's go ahead and take this cable device out. After connecting all the interfaces, the camera can operate normally. I'll show you briefly how that works, and then we'll go over the rest of the stuff.

Testing

Now, let's get into the demonstration. I've put the camera head into the air duct in my room. Now, what I'm doing is testing out the Sanyipace detector to detect where the camera probe is in the duct.

We are going to turn it on. At this time, it is in far mode. Turn up the sensitivity, and you can hear the noise. Move around and try to find locations with strong signal peaks. The camera is in this corner. We adjust it to near mode and repeat the operation just now. Okay, coming to my closet, the camera seems to be in the air duct down here.

Below, I will post some footage and videos recorded by the camera at work. I'll try to put this on the computer.

You can kind of see that the self-leveling does a pretty good job. Now I'm gonna pull this cable out. Once it got right here under the tape by the closet, we started experiencing some problems, and that's basically with this cable. This cable needs to be thicker. If it was a little thicker, I think I'd be able to push it over this hump. I pull it out and put it back a little bit. It seems to be getting caught on the wheels. And it's once I try to push it through there, it's not rolling through.

Unfortunately, I don't have any real plumbing jobs. But we can demonstrate on this PVC that has a 90 degree angle elbow. We're going to do a demonstration through this pipe first. And then we're going to do a demonstration through the larger pipe. We see the PVC on the screen there. I will go ahead and loosen up the line a little bit. Go ahead and push it up, and come out with a brand new pipe. There's going to be no debris on there or anything. We can use this camera in pipes with 90 degree bends.

Conclusion

So there you have the Sanyipace sewer inspection system. I want to keep in mind that they have higher end models that have thicker cable. I think the thicker cable will give you an overall better experience. But compared to others that I've seen on Amazon and stuff or just even at Home Depot, these things can be expensive. So, if you're interested in saving some money and you want to try the Sanyipace, I just recommend that.
